The  sun came out this afternoon and lit the office up so beautifully it inspired me to create an orange and spring pink wedding concept board. beautiful tulips for a stylish wedding bouquet and delicate vintage crockery all set off with a nice zingy blast of orange to wake the taste buds. Yummy!

Wowee! What a couple of months! Well I thought it was high time that I posted a new wedding design concept on here and since I am currently inspired by all things French I thought I would let my imagination run away with me. Beautiful colour palettes, distressed wood and a sense of simple, effortless style, it’s a look that says: oh so chic.  And, let’s not forget the ability to appeal to all of our senses as you imagine your wedding infused with delicate lavender. Pure heaven.

This new wedding design concept is vintage with a twist. It can be easy to try and follow a concept to the letter, the danger being that it all starts to look like a fancy dress party. Be inspired but don’t forget to add your own personality, especially in the smallest of details as that’s what will get remembered the most.

The pale blue and purple hues provide contrast with the black, a subtle yet stylish colour palette and as you can see, introducing black into your scheme does not mean that it has to be overbearing. In actual fact it’s the opposite when used with the soft blue, simply gorgeous!

Wedding favours need not cost a fortune, OR take months to do if you fancy the idea of embarking on a DIY project for your wedding. I have been recommending these to one of my Nottingham brides recently as a way of cutting costs without scrimping on style. It’s  an inexpensive but fashionable way of providing favours at a wedding  – there’s no need for sugared almonds in organza bags unless that’s what you really want!

Consider also tying ribbons round so that the bottles tie in with your concept colours or for an eco-chic rustic look use string and card luggage labels with personal messages on.

Alternatively, if cooking is really not your thing why not try brightly coloured bubble baths or shower gels that you buy in bulk and decant, adding a pretty dash of colour to your tables. Try these guys for bottles of all shapes and sizes.

The Egyptians were famous for many things including their  attention to design, with bold bright colours decadent golds and gorgeous turquoise. It’s funny how often I look to the past to be inspired for the future. Drawing upon their influences, yet bringing them right up to date, to create modern wedding concepts for today’s stylish bride. So by using those colours and offsetting the boldness with the softness of the cream to prevent it from being over bearing…voila!

Whilst cruising the pages of OffbeatBride.com I chanced upon these incredible wedding bouquets. They are absolute heaven and are handmade by Princess Lasertron. Not only that she makes flower pins, buttonholes and allsorts of felt fabulousness. The best bit is that they are all made from recycled materials using vintage buttons and fabrics, so if you are after a wedding that is eco-chic you would be mad to pass up on one of these. The other bit of good news is that if you don’t have the budget to commission Princess Lasertron herself you can actually buy one of her kits and DIY. And what a fantastic way of ensuring that your bouquet lasts long-after your wedding day, a keepsake forever.

Sigh…it’s official ladies, I need some of this vintage heaven in my life!!

This is amazing! It certainly takes toilet paper to a whole new level! The winner’s dress is a ‘Gone with the Wind’ inspired dress and the judges likened it to Oscar de la Renta, but ‘frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn’ its a work of art. With budgets being a bit tight this year I have been recommending this DIY idea from Martha Stewart to brides to be. It is a really good way to provide a bit of colour to your wedding without the cost. Use them to provide delicate floral shapes that compliment your colour scheme  – be it bright and zingy or soft pastel hues. Throw a party and get the girlies round to give you a hand, as these beautiful tissue paper balls can help you cut back on flowers, expensive room decorations and even place settings. Fans and parasols are a fantastic way of keeping cool and injecting a bit of colour into your wedding. They not only make lovely favours but they can also serve a purpose as well. Now I know normally, in Nottingham we are more likely to reach for an umbrella but with tempratures creeping up towards the 30 mark this summer, these are a sure way of making sure you don’t melt. Brollies Galore have a good selection of parasols and fantastica hold an array of resonably priced fans in just about every colour. But rather than buying personalised fans make lovely tags with sweet messages on for your guests so that everything compliments your colour scheme and is a bit more you?

These are simply some of the most beautiful cupcakes I have seen in a long time. Hello Naomi describes herself as a cupcake ninja, and I for one wouldn’t want to disagree. Simply beautiful eyecandy for a friday afternoon.
